🏨 Hotel Laundry & Cooling Tower Water

The Two Biggest Drivers of Hotel Water Bills

Hotel laundry and cooling towers together account for 50–70% of total water consumption. Both are reduced simultaneously when Smart Valve™ treats the main supply line — one installation, two major cost centers addressed.

Hotel Laundry: The Water Cost Nobody Talks About

Volume: 150,000–500,000 Gallons Per Year Just for Laundry

A 200-room hotel processes 50,000–100,000 lbs of linen per year — sheets, towels, robes, restaurant linens. Each pound requires 3–5 gallons of water. That's 150,000–500,000 gallons per year in laundry water alone, all metered and billed at commercial rates.

Laundry and cooling demand

Laundry and cooling operations can be major water users. AWS can review billing, operating schedules, and meter configuration; site-specific causes and savings vary.

Smart Valve™ and total metered consumption

Installed after the meter, Smart Valve™ helps keep entrained air compressed through the meter and moderates pressure and flow fluctuations. AWS assesses eligible metered charges; individual results vary.

Laundry Savings Require Site Data

Laundry savings depend on metered usage, eligible charges, operating schedules, equipment, and local tariffs. The Four Seasons AWS result—26% reduction in daily water use (6-inch service)—is not a laundry benchmark.

Cooling Tower Makeup Water: The Largest Single Hotel Water Cost

Why Cooling Towers Consume So Much Water

Hotel HVAC cooling towers require continuous makeup water to replace losses from evaporation, drift, and blowdown. The more mineral-laden the incoming water, the more frequent blowdown must occur — because minerals concentrate rapidly and damage the system if not purged.

Review laundry and cooling demand

Laundry and cooling operations can be reviewed as part of a site-specific assessment of eligible metered charges, operating schedules, and meter configuration.

Customer results remain project-specific

Published customer results belong to their own sites and periods. They should not be treated as a promise for hotel laundry or cooling operations; individual results vary.

Cooling Savings Require Site Data

Cooling-water savings depend on meter configuration, eligible charges, operating conditions, and local tariffs. The Four Seasons AWS result—26% reduction in daily water use (6-inch service)—is not a cooling-tower benchmark.

★ COMBINED IMPACT — 200-ROOM PROPERTY

Combined Savings Require a Site-Specific Estimate

Laundry, cooling tower, guest room, and kitchen usage may share a meter, but project savings depend on eligible charges, site conditions, and the agreed measurement period.

One Installation — All Uses Treated

1

Installed on Main Supply Line

Smart Valve™ installs on the main water supply line. All water downstream — laundry, cooling, guest rooms, kitchen — is treated simultaneously. No separate installation for each use.

2

After-meter mechanical device

Smart Valve™ helps keep entrained air compressed through the meter and moderates pressure and flow fluctuations. It does not treat water, remove air, or guarantee unchanged pressure.

3

Terms and assessment

AWS confirms installation charges plus a fixed monthly service or rental fee based on eligible charges. A 15% minimum guarantee applies only to qualifying projects under a written performance agreement.

Free Hotel Water Assessment

We'll review your hotel's billing, eligible charges, laundry and cooling operations, and site conditions. The Four Seasons supplier-reported pilot provides context but is not a benchmark for another property.

$

Qualifying commercial sites typically have about $5,000 or more per month in combined water and sewer charges. Your assessment confirms site fit and whether a written guarantee applies.
